Peel it first, then bite it, slurp it or lick it, depending on what mood you’re in.
Or skip the peeling, nip a hole in it and squeeze it out and suck it all up.
Our team of tasters went for tentative licks being first time eaters of The Laughing Cow cheese triangles. They were sampling two new flavours – Light with Emmental and Light with Blue Cheese. Promising smooth and cheesy triangular tastiness the smallest of our tasters E and V happily slobbered their way through theirs. The older children abandoned their triangles finding the flavour and texture ‘a bit strange’. They might have preferred them spread on some crackers rather than tucking into them neat. Our adult tasters preferred the Blue Cheese Light triangles to the Emmental and were disappointed there were no actual blue specks in them.
The cheese tasting took place in our friends’ garden alongside tea and biscuits.
G’s serving suggestion was a Laughing Cow Light triangle topped with an apple slice perched on a flapjack, gobbled whole of course – we can’t vouch for that as no-one else had a mouth big enough to try it! At 25 calories per triangle quite a healthy snack really, more so if you ditch the flapjack perch!
E’s been making light work of the leftover cheese triangles – they make a handy appetiser at tea time while he waits for his dinner to cool down. He prefers the stronger tasting Blue Cheese ones too being a toddler not adverse to pungent flavours (garlic stuffed olives being among his favourite foods!) Next time I might actually try using the triangles as flavouring in cooking – there’s no shortage of Laughing Cow recipe ideas here
Disclosure: I was sent free samples of The Laughing Cow Light cheeses to try. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions are my own
I’ve not tried these yet, but I am boring, unwrap them and then spread them on ryvita
I want to eat that last photo! Looks delicious! x
