Someone I was introduced to yesterday for the first time asked me what I do for fun and looking down at Euan I replied ”oh, there’s not much time left for anything else when you have a baby”. My answer reflected the fact that my previous pastimes of gardening, cooking, blogging and knitting are on hold at present but I realised as soon as I said it that it might have sounded like life as a new mum is without fun. And of course that couldn’t be further from the truth. I smile and laugh countless times a day in the delightful company of this gorgeous boy.

you’re quite right, what better way to spend your time than with this little chap! And i bet you’ll be amazed what can be achieved with a babe in a sling (trips to the loo, um..,). For me it’s taken a while to get my energy back but all the things i love doing like sewing and gardening get done, perhaps just a little slower than before, fitting around the odd nap and feed. not sure how i did that exhibition at 10 weeks though! oh what a clever chatty boy you have! x
ps someone told me when rubio was a couple of weeks old that i’d might as well pack away my sewing machine, almost as if i shouldn’t really be doing anything else at all. hmm well being a bullish taurean i didn’t listen, in fact it made me more determined to keep making!
Voilà, different priorities do not mean less fun. 😉 Euan looks so alert and happy ! Thanks so much for sharing this video, Nic. Great to see everyone’s well. Xx
You are so lovely 🙂 🙂 xxx
He is precious beyond words. 😀
am sure when Euan is ready to engage with your interests you will be right back into them and it wont be long – little ones are so curious – glad you are enjoying motherhood
A really lovely boy – a gift from God
Hi Nic, a gorgeous alert 7 week old bundle of joy! All things come in time and spending precious time with Euan now is what you need.
This time goes by so fast – enjoy it while he is tiny. There will be plenty of time of other things later!
Nic, you have found the pleasure in treasure, probably the best investment you ever will make. Long may you enjoy Euan’s smiles.
