Hello, remember me?
You may have noticed blogging’s taken a bit of a back seat over the last few months. Life’s been a bit crazy but the beloved allotment, which should be renamed ‘The Parents Plot’ in honour of all the hours my mum and dad have put in this year, continues to thrive. We’ve been harvesting armfuls of veg (more on that another time) and tonight I was all set to tell you about my onions. Well, the onions will have to wait for another time too as a little catching up with one of my favourite gardening blogs has fired me up for a whole months worth of blog posts!
Susy at Chiots Run has posted a challenge to bloggers to use each letter of the alphabet to describe themselves, each day throughout August (with Sundays off). The discipline of posting daily will be quite a challenge in itself for me but I’m intrigued by the idea of expressing a single word in pictures and I’m hopeful that it’ll launch me back into more regular posting. Does anyone else fancy taking part? Don’t worry if you’re not a blogger or don’t have time to post your own version you can still join in by posting your own word in my comments box each day.
See you tomorrow when A is for …
Can’t wait to see all your words! Thanks for joining in!
Nice Idea. I look forward to reading about you Nic 🙂
Lovely idea – I will have a think about joining in…. and will definitely keep my eye on yours. (BTW when do you think the purple potatoes should be lifted, do I wait for the top parts to die back?, I am sure you told me but I can’t remember…..)
Great idea!, its inspired me to start my own illustrated allotment alphabet. But I think I’ll spread it out a bit, one a day is quite a challenge.
One post a day is definitely too much for me – but I’ll be following your alphabet month!
A is for ANGELIC, which is what my lovely Deborah is for keeping me centered and happy.
Alpha male (in this house at least – who am I fooling? There’s a certain fluffy white beast and a smelly black critter that would contest the superiority of human over feline that also live here)
Susy – it’s my pleasure and thanks for giving me the kick up the bum I needed!
Jac – I’ll probably find I won’t have time to do anything but alphabet posts now! Oh well, I’m not doing any cooking experiments at the moment anyway and chutney season is still a little way off.
Joanna – you can join in here at least :o)
Potatoes may be ready now if you planted them early (can’t remember when I sent them to you). A dead looking plant is usually the best indicator! An allotment neighbour lifted some of hers at the weekend and they went in after mine (which are still in through sheer distraction with other things).
Greg – I shall look forward to that.
Julie – it may well prove too much for me too. I’ve ponder most letters but foresee some creative license being used at the end of the alphabet.
Tom – what a beautiful dedication to Deb. But what about you? Active (or Always doing something) I’d say judging by your many and various blog tales.
G – oh I think you just about have the lead. They know better than to bite the hand that feeds!
