I don’t think this is what George had in mind when I said I’d stocked up the fridge!

What are you going to do with all of them?! The courgette glut was bad enough but squash? They look terrific by the way.I have also dusted off my knitting needles last night and tried to continue a waiscoat I had started last winter but then the Sring intervened and the plot and the seed sowing…
good question Peggy. At least these store well so I have plenty of time to decide which recipes to try. thank goodness Autumn is coming! Most of my courgettes end up grated into tomato based recipes or casseroles; it’s amazing what you can hide them in when determined enough ;o)
dare I ask what you normally store in that fridge (and therefore how come it was empty enough that you could fill it with produce)
Hi Bilbo, you’d be forgiven for thinking I’m some kind of crazy vegetarian pumpkin lover to have nothing but them in my fridge! We do have normal food in a normal fridge in the kitchen – this is an old one in the cellar that we only keep for the small box freezer on the top so it is usually empty waiting in anticipation for a glut of allotment produce.
