Can you believe all my courgette and marrow pickings are from just two plants; one round, one straight. The round courgette plant was another seedling donation from Dave and I think he said the seed came from his daughter in Finland.

Compost the huge ones now and eat the tiny tender ones. We were too soft hearted in our first year and tried to find homes for all the green Zeppelins. Our friends started avoiding us and we still had piles of rock-hard tasteless marrows at Christmas. You know it makes sense. Do it now.
the ‘small’ marrows are being received quite well – perhaps it’s relief that I don’t inflict the beast on anyone! I think it will end up in my chutney pan
