Early Nantes sown on 26th April, first sighting of tops on 1st June, this bunch lifted on 15 July. I won’t have a huge crop because I spaced them widely (I don’t like disturbing plants once they’re growing and thinning can attract carrot fly). But the result has been lovely long, juicy carrots and I’d choose quality over quantity any day. Only a couple of seeds didn’t germinate so I sowed some radishes in the gaps. The photo below was taken a few weeks ago (pre-weeding it looks like!). More carrot seed sown on 23 June, Autumn King this time and germination has been much faster with the warmer weather and regular rainfall.
