We’ve had our plot since September 2004 and I love that it changes so much every year. The last two years soggy summers have thwarted crops with floods, mould and blight so we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a happier harvest this year. It will be interesting to see what difference our extra years experience will have compared to our flooky ‘sow it and see’ successes from our baby years.
Our allotment site is home to over 100 plots and we have the good fortune of having an edge plot bordered with established trees that provide shade and seclusion as well as a feeling of wildness to counteract the order of the seed bed. Oh and free food – I smell Elderflower Cordial and Damson Chutney coming soon…..
